Fleming College

Located in the heart of Central Ontario, Fleming College has campus locations in Peterborough, Lindsay, Cobourg and Haliburton. Named for famous Canadian inventor and engineer Sir Sandford Fleming, the college features more than
90 full-time programs in, Business, Community Development, Environmental and Natural Resource Sciences, Fine Arts,
Health and Wellness, Law and Justice, and Technology and Skilled Trades. Fleming College has 5,700 full-time and
10,000 part-time students, and more than 58,000 alumni.

Fleming College, School of Environmental and Natural Resource Sciences is known nationally and internationally as "The School" when it comes to studies in the environment and natural resources. Its reputation is built
on the quality of learning, the quality of its faculty; its extensive applied research initiatives with universities, government agencies and the private sector, and the strong partnerships with natural resource industries.

The School of Environmental and Natural Resource Sciences is expanding to meet the needs of students and enhance the learning environment. The $12 million addition is an environmentally sensitive design, which will include:

  • A 200 seat computer commons
  • 3 geomatics labs and a geomatics project area
  • An 8,600 square foot library
  • A biodiversity lab
  • An air photo and mapping lab
  • A solar terrestrial observatory to monitor weather and seismic activity and a living lab.
  • A pathology and limnology lab for the study of fresh water systems

Several transfer agreements enable graduates to pursue their studies at universities. These include agreements with Trent University, University of Guelph and York University that offer graduates of many of the three - year Technology programs the opportunity to earn their degree in just two years of study. Graduates can also obtain credit towards degrees at Lakehead University, Athabaska University, and Lakeland College (Alberta) and an agreement with Laurentian University is being finalized.
