Water and Wastewater

The City of Kawartha Lakes has more than 250 lakes and one of the largest networks of water and wastewater systems in the Province of Ontario. The City has 15 ground water intakes, 6 surface water intakes and 6 waste water systems spread across 3083 km²

The water & wastewater investment opportunities best suited to the City of Kawartha Lakes are:

  • Waste water treatment and spin offs from the applied research being conducted at Fleming College's Centre for Alternative Wastewater Treatment
  • Innovative technologies that will drive down operational costs and/or improve efficiency
