Designated Heritage Properties Register

Every community has its own unique heritage that includes buildings and places that are integral to local identity.  Our heritage plays an important role in economic development by strengthening a community's  distinctiveness, helping to enhance quality of life, stimulating revitalization and attracting tourist dollars.

Under the Ontario Heritage Act, municipalities can pass bylaws that formally designate properties of cultural heritage value or interest. This formal designation of heritage properties is a way of publicly acknowledging a property's heritage value to a community. Designation also helps to protect these treasured places for the benefit and enjoyment of present and future generations.

The following is the Register of Designated Heritage Properties for the City of Kawartha Lakes. Designated under Part IV of the Ontario Heritage Act.
