About Us

This is the official site for the Economic Development Division of the City of Kawartha Lakes, Ontario, Canada. The City of Kawartha Lakes was created on January 1st, 2001 as an amalgamated municipality of the former townships and the County of Victoria.

The Economic Development Office is a Division of the Development Services Department and staff consists of a Manager of Economic Development, Business Development Officer, Tourism Development Officer, Agriculture Development Officer, Small Business Enterprise Center Manager, Economic Development Officer, and 2 Administrative Staff plus various grant funded staff from time to time.  The office is located at 180 Kent Street West in Lindsay.

Activities of the office include advising/consulting with clients, delivering information/training seminars and workshops, attracting new businesses, servicing existing businesses through consultations, conducting feasibility/sector analysis studies to identify gaps and opportunities, providing staff support to Advisory Boards, facilitating partnerships, marketing and promoting the area and its businesses amongst many other development projects.
